8 Things the Media Hasn't Told You About Eli 2019 Scary Movies Out Now !!

➽➽➽W the timings of jump scares are too frequent and predictable, the movie is just a shit show.

Eli manages to wield that off with meshing different elements into one movie and use scariness as the glue to bind all the elements.

➽➽➽ First, I thought it is some sort of X-men like movie. A boy has some gene problems and turns out to be super power.

In the end it is very simple to depend on your own perception of the evil villain in the story, while the character of Elaine knows nothing until the very last moment, and is ultimately lost by the young girl to her father or her mistress,

➽➽➽ It is kinda like that in its core, but that is just one element. Then, the wild west landscape depiction gives a zombie apocalypse vibe, especially when the windows are tried to be broken in by ghosts, many can confuse them with zombies, since they do stay in a safe house.

➽➽➽ I suggest this movie night, clock / one hour, lights off and lonely, it's more like this.

➽➽➽ Then, the religious allusions also give “the Witch” vibe in the atmosphere. What all the other directors in the vast span of cinema history did not realize is, instead of focusing on 1 aspect as the theme, one can just mash everything together, so we have Eli.
Synopsis: This film is about a boy with an immune disorder who is undergoing treatment but fails to notice that the house in which he lives is not safe enough ... The
duration of this film is ninety minutes.

This mashup is ingenious, well-thought-out, and appropriate. However, even though the scary element arises from the mashup, it in turn sacrifices the plot. The plot seems to just set up something unexpected at the end.

➽➽➽ Curious and surprising mix of subgenres that is at least passable to hang out. And I would say that above the average of horror movies made in Netflix, which are usually horrifying.

For example, the critiques on religious maniac that embedded throughout the whole movie is totally unjustified by the ending. The plot then tries too hard to blow one’s mind on that basis, instead of bringing a deeper origin or contextualizes the presence of scariness in the house.
There is a very young boy named Eli (Charlie Shotwell), who is very very sick. His mom and dad take him to a house to receive treatment by Dr. Horn (Lili Taylor) for his auto-immune disorder. And he meets a girl on the other side named Haley (Sadie Sink), who thinks there's something strange going on with this place. And Eli, he soon discovers that the house he's living in isn't as safe as he thought. Will Eli get the help he's been promised? Another thing, what is it with this house that isn't so right?

➽➽➽ The devil demolishing process, which is the premise of the whole entire movie also makes little sense, since the ending for all three devils is pretty much the same, why not just kill them from the get-go, instead of waiting for Trial 3. Eli can have some beginner fun, but it is a movie that cannot stand any scrutinies.

This movie went in a direction that I did not anticipate. I absolutely did not see the twist revelation coming at all.
Although the ending was really good, its just a shame that the pacing was a bit off and took a long time to get anywhere.

➽➽➽ 6/10 Impressive performances can't quite hold up an interesting premise that is unfortunately marred by uneven pacing.
