Major producers of bollywood, india's film industry capital, have filed a lawsuit over two television news channels for filming the industry, drug and crime after the death of a young movie star. His girlfriend, rhea chakraborty, was also targeted by the media, who was later arrested by the authorities for drug use. The case in the delhi high court involves more than 30 bollywood production companies and four film bodies as prosecutors, focusing on how rajput's death is covered.
The suit was filed by the producers guild of india and the screenwriters association, as well as production companies affiliated with senior bollywood representatives sharrokhan, salman khan and amer khan.

The producers said in a statement: "the privacy of bollywood followers is violated and their reputation is irreparably damaged by portraying the entire industry as criminals and drug addicts, making belonging to bollywood synonymous with criminal acts in the public imagination."
The producers filed their lawsuit on republic tv, its founder arnab goswami and times now, and representatives of the two channels have not yet responded to a request for comment, and a lawyer representing the producers has not yet been reached.
