is there a celebrity that you really like and you wanna talk to, but you know there's no way of ever communicating with them?

I'm gonna teach you how to slide into their dm's, how to get their attention, how to talk to them, and what to do if they don't respond. Now, before i go on, i do want to emphasize this: some celebrities don't really use social media as a way to talk back to their fans.

How do I know if a celebrity is real on Instagram?:

  • There's a thing called par asocial relationships where someone might become a little obsessed with the celebrity and think that there's a deeper relationship there whereas the celebrity doesn't feel that same way.

  • It's a one-sided relationship, so, it's important to think about your own crush, your own celebrity crush here.

Do you have a par asocial relationship with that celebrity? Do you admire them and think that you're deeply connected to them when in reality you're not? So right before we get to the dm thing, what you're gonna wanna do is set up a scenario that could potentially lead to you getting a response to them through a dm.

Do celebrities see direct messages on Instagram?

Now, a good way to go about doing that, is to create something and to tag them on it. Whether it's fan art, whether it's a post about them, something that you kind of show that you're inspired by them and you're tagging them so that they can see that inspiration. An example of this is, for one of my birthdays, my wife and i had went out on a road trip.

And along the way we stopped at a vegan restaurant which had a jukebox in it. Now i was super surprised to see that kina grannis was on that jukebox. Kina grannis is one of my favorite musical artists, I'll link up her YouTube channel over here, i've been following her for years, so we've decided to play a bunch of her songs, which was super awesome.

As the song was playing, my wife recorded a little video of me singing along to it and she tagged kina grannis on it. Well, that ended up prompting a response with kina grannis. Her wishing me a happy birthday, which was amazing. So, just incorporating a musician or an artist work into something and then tagging them to show that they've inspired you in some way, could potentially prompt a response from them.

Now, i know what you're thinking, "they probably get tagged in thousands of things every single day." so, what's your one little tag gonna do in comparison to all the rest? But, you at least are taking a chance by doing something creative there. And creativity tends to stand out above a standard message that you might send them.

Can a normal person get verified on Instagram?

A lot of times, people think just sending off a random dm that says something like, "you're an inspiration! I love you! I want to be with you!" is actually gonna grab their attention, but chances are, it's not.

A lot of these tools, instagram specifically, has that request folder which separates it from the regular dms. I'm not even a celebrity and i don't get near the amount of dms that a lot of real celebrities do, but sometimes my request folder goes up to 99 plus and once it goes beyond that its kinda hard to manage. The number is just infinitely overwhelming. So, imagine for real celebrities with millions and millions of followers, how many dms they get that are all the same.

How to Get A Celebrity to Follow You on Instagram;

Just fans showing their appreciation, nothing really stands out about those regular messages. Not to mention, if they don't take that extra step and go into their request folder, then your message is gonna be buried away forever. So there are a few other ways to potentially get their attention.

You have to take advantage of the fact that humans are curious about people's opinions of them and if you're the first one there, the first one at the door, chances are you have a higher likelihood of getting a response. You can always turn on notifications for that celebrity so you know exactly when they're posting, you could probably be one of the first people at the door, but here's a rule of thumb: don't leave a comment like, "first!", "i'm here!", "wow!", or anything like that because that doesn't really prompt any kind of response.

How to Get Famous People to Follow You on Instagram:

I would look at the post and i would write somewhat meaningful because if you're asking a question or leaving an actual statement that has meaning to it, chances are that celebrity is gonna feel inspired by your message so they're gonna respond back. Most people genuinely enjoy engaging with fans of their work and they're willing to take a little bit of their day to actually leave comments and respond back. So if you're in the first pool of people that actually get there, chances are you're gonna get that response early on.

Then there's another technique that you can use to potentially get their attention, this is a little bit of a psychology hack that i would recommend you try out. You're a small fish in a big sea of fans, so when you try to interact with that celebrity they're probably not gonna respond, but that celebrity does have friends, and the friends are the people that they regularly communicate with, so what you're gonna wanna try to do here is to tag the celebrity and their friend on a post hoping that the celebrity's friend ends up responding to you, because if the celebrity's friend ends up responding to you, that bumps it up higher in the celebrity's eyes.

How to get a celebrity to follow you on social media:

There's a better chance that they're gonna see it because the notification is coming from the friend and not only from you. Now, i don't recommend tagging all the people that that person regularly talks to because if it looks like spam, it's gonna be treated like spam.

But, try to offer something meaningful. Ask a question that either one of them can answer because that might be a better way to lead them into the conversation. So what do you do then if you're left high and dry? You're trying all these techniques, but none of them are working. Well, i think in that instance, the best thing to do is to be okay with it. Recognize that celebrities need time to eat, and to sleep, and to spend time with friends, and to work on their creative projects.

  1.  They only have a limited window of time to respond to fans, so appreciate the fact that they actually do respond to fans. They are engaging, and maybe one day you'll be one of those fans. Try the techniques and see what works for you.
  2. Now, if you do find yourself constantly dming that celebrity over and over hoping to have a personal relationship with them, i think it's important for you to recognize that you might be a little obsessed.
  3. So, check out the video over there on the side which goes a little bit more in depth on celebrity obsession and check out the playlist underneath it to learn more about how to deal with obsessive feelings and how to let them go.
  4. And then now guys, i'll catch you next time. As always, love and peace.
